New Owner Celebration was a hit!

Our first Toyota New Owner Event was this past Wednesday and we had such a great turn out.  Thanks to all of those that joined us!  Each quarter all new Toyota Owners will be invited to attend the event so we can educate them on all that Team Toyota has to offer.   Upholding the integrity of Team Toyota and providing the best customer service is our highest priority.  Not only were our visitors provided with dinner, we had several workshops to cover a variety of topics to help each Toyota Owner get the most from their new vehicle as well as the best service we can provide as their dealership.   

In addition to explaining in detail the complimentary 2 year ToyotaCare maintenance free program with each new Toyota purchase, we also held stations to demonstrate the Entune and Bluetooth features as well as simple mainentance you can do yourself like replacing wiper blades, checking tire pressure and even how to schedule a service appointment online to receive a 10% discount on your scheduled maintenance. 

            

We also have an online access to everything you need to know about your new Toyota, from online owner's manual, how to videos, service history, recall information, maintenance and warranty details and what all the dashboard indicators lights mean.

How many weddings have you been invited to this summer.  Me?  I've already been invited to three weddings and they are on the same day!  One out of state which is for my cousin's wedding, one in Lake County for my husband's boss and one in Porter County for my assistant that I work with every day! ARE YOU READY??

It's nice to have the weather getting warmer and the time of year I look forward to.  It is also the reminder that its time for spring cleaning.  Luckily, I have plenty of children to help me accomplish this in no time! :)  But it will also come with a few unpleasant things as well.  It's not anything that they are looking forward to at all!  I actually haven't even told them just yet, that should be a fun conversation.....not something I am looking forward to doing either.  Is it only my children that complain about cleaning and having to tell them to do the same thing every day?  They act like it's the end of the world if I have them do something outside of the ordinary chores they are supposed to be doing anyways.

Well, that turned out to be a little rant about my kids! LOL.  To be completely honest, I just hung up the phone scolding them for playing and fighting while they did absolutely no chores for an hour and 15 minutes.  :)  That is the worst part about having to work evening hours and having children to be responsible for themselves.  Then I come home to arguing children with chores incomplete and that tends to put me in a bad mood.  Perhaps ending with a bottle of wine! :)

Okay, back to the topic....SPRING CLEANING!!

I used to live in a little apartment and not that much space, spring cleaning wasn't really that hard to do.  The kids were little and I would have to do it all by myself anyways.  When they got older, they started having to help though.  Fast forward a decade, 2 marraiges, and 5 children later, and I now have a 4 bedroom house with  2 baths, 2.5 car garages, and 18x33 ft swimming pool..........and spring cleaning is now a HUGE THING!  Having a family and beautiful home is a great thing to have, but there are so many extras that come along with it.  I wouldn't trade it for anything.

My spring cleaning list consists of thoroughly cleaning the inside of the house, but then we add in the outside of the house, isn't that always fun?  We are now starting to rake and cut the lawn, cleaning out the garage to put away all the winter sports gear and and get the summer stuff out and easily assessible, and then preparing to open up the pool.  Sounds like a great weekend of family cleaning, playing ,arguing and yelling to me.  Man do I love being a mom! :)

Looking at the price of gas these days and considering the prices are continuing to rise through the year as expected, it's no surprise that consumers are now putting more thought into shopping for the most fuel efficient vehicle available. You may inquire on the prices of the hybrid model and wonder if a more fuel-efficient car may be worth the investment or not.  

Do you end up having to pay more for having a hybrid vehicle? Absolutely, there is no way to get around that.  With the supply and demand economics being so high in auto sales, be realistic and expect that you will likely not get as high of a savings on the hybrid models compared to the non-hybrid models.  You may think that its unfair, and dealers are just trying to make money, but the same scenario can be applied to pool sales in the summer.  You can save more money purchasing one during the off season, but the price will increase during the hot summer months. 

The real question is "Is it worth paying more if I can save more in gas now?" In my opinion, yes. I only say yes if you intend on servicing it as recommended and actually keeping it for the next 5-10 years. It will take time to break even in what you save versus what you paid.  It's important to remember that it actually takes a while to reach the optimal mpg you want and will vary depending on your actual driving habits as well.

Four years ago, car companies didn't have enough fuel-sipping small cars to satisfy buyers, and that hurt sales. With so much more emphasis on fuel economy since then, and there's now a wide selection of efficient cars and SUVs. We now have more than ever to choose from for both new and preowned hybrid inventory.

If you decide to go green and purchase a hybrid vehicle, I encourage you to make your selection and make the deal when you have it in front of you.   It makes me sad having to explain to my customer that someone else bought the one they wanted while they were still thinking it over.  Some of the hybrid models are not even hitting our lot, we tell them what is coming in on the truck and they are placing deposits for incoming units!

The new store has officially begun construction and we couldn't be more excited!!  We've decided that we want to share the experience with everyone and hopefully get you just as excited as we are.  Here are a few videos of the first few days as they started to break ground.  The grand opening is scheduled to be in Spring of 2013 with one of the largest Grand Opening Event ever!!  We'll keep you posted with the construction updates and more details for the grand opening event as we get closer to the all new Team Toyota on 41!!
